Apple hand pie

Ingredients :


For the filling

  • 3 cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut

  • 10g butter

  • 14 g light brown sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

For the dough

  • 70g of Super Milled Grain

  • 250g of Whole wheat Flour

  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 3 tablespoons sugar

  • 85g butter, chilled and cubed

  • 1 cup of whole milk

Method :

  1. Preheat oven to 220 C/ 425 degrees F/ gas mark 7.

  2. In a pan over medium heat combine all filling ingredients and cook for 3-5 minutes until butter is melted and apples have softened. Set aside while you make dough.

  3. In a mixing bowl sift together flour, Super Milled Grains, baking powder, salt and sugar. Blend in cubed butter with your fingertips until it resembles a coarse meal. Add in milk and stir until just combined. On a floured work surface knead dough a couple times until it just comes together.

  4. Roll out dough. Spoon filling into the center of each size and fold over.

  5. Bake on a well buttered sheet pan for 12 minutes or until dough is golden brown.

  6. Let cool and Enjoy !
